Tourism, Vlora invaded by foreign visitors

Although still in May, there are many tourists who choose the Vlora seafront to spend pleasant days on the beach. A large part of them are of Russian nationality. According to tour operators, about 250 arrive every day in Valona, ​​Russian tourists and some hotels – but also some apartments for rent on the waterfront – have been booked by them for the next two months.

In interviews with the Top Channel TV station, visitors said they were happy with the chosen tourist destination. According to them, tourism in Albania has yet to improve but the natural beauties offered by the land of eagles and Valona in particular are wonderful and, moreover, everything is made even more beautiful by the quality food offered:

“I come from Russia, from Moscow. It is my first time in Albania. The food is excellent, there are many restaurants with Italian and even cheap menus. “ – says a tourist.

“It’s really great here. Clean, organized and with a fantastic beach; a nice experience.” – says another tourist from Russia.

In addition to the many Russian visitors, many have also arrived and continue to arrive from Poland and Sweden. Indeed, some of them even bought a house in Vlore since they were now in the third consecutive year that they spent their holidays in Albania and, for this reason, they decided to buy a house directly.

“I’m staying at my brother’s house, there on the hill. We bought a house here in Albania. It is very beautiful here; the beaches are wonderful, perfect for both young people and adults. “ – declared another Russian tourist.

2019: An invasion of foreign tourists

Albania is increasingly becoming a country preferred by foreigners, both for tourism and for work or business visits as well as for medical services. The data from the Albanian Institute of Statistics (Instat) show that in the first three months of the year, therefore January-February-March, about 677.000 foreign citizens arrived in Albania; a value that has recorded an evident increase (+ 12,5%) compared to the same period a year ago.

Data which, according to forecasts, should increase even more during the summer season, considering that already many hotels have been booked, mostly by citizens of the Nordic countries and by Ukrainian citizens (also increasingly attracted by Albania).
